From October 2006 until the end of January 2007, Mike will be Guest Professor in Didactics and Language Teaching Methodology in the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Vienna. He can be contacted at:  mike.beaumont@univie.ac.at

Main research interests:

The training and development of second language teachers, second language acquisition, reading in a second language

Main teaching interests:

The psychology of language learning; approaches, methods and techniques in language teaching, classroom research, the education of language teachers.

International experience:

Full time teaching experience in India and Iran; extensive experience of in-service teacher education and staff development, most recently in South Korea, Austria, Greece, China, and Nepal
