In Britain, I have taught at Aston University and at the Universities of Birmingham and Durham.  Internationally, I was Research Director at the National Centre for English Language Teaching Research, Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.  I have also taught at the Universities of Alexandria, Egypt, and Istanbul, Turkey, as well as working in Germany, Singapore and the Lebanon.  Short-term engagements have taken me to a number of other countries.
