Research Interests
I have done research and published extensively in the areas of effective pedagogy, school effectiveness and school improvement and leadership, and have an interest in research methodology, in particular quantitative methods. I am Editor of the journals School Effectiveness and School Improvement (with Roel Bosker) and Educational Management Abstracts, and have acted as Chair and programme chair of the School Effectiveness and School Improvement special interest group of the American Educational Research Association. I have been involved in a large number of research and evaluation projects for Charitable trusts. Research councils and government bodies.
