Main research interests

Gill has a range of research interests linked to children and young people with disabilities and their quality of life.   Her PhD explored the relationship between childhood epilepsy and associated language and communication disorders.   Gill has previously been involved in looking at barriers to achievement in schools in the context of language and communication difficulties.  Currently Gill is working as co-investigator in the national evaluation team in a research project appointed by DfES and the Department of Health to ascertain the effectiveness of Early Support for disabled children 0-3 years

Gill is a member of the Institute of Health Sciences (HIS) Child Health and Research Network

Main teaching interests

Gill contributes to a range of UG and PG programmes on subjects related to her research interests.   She is Programme Director for all PG Programmes in Profound Learning Disability and Multi-Sensory Impairment in the School of Education.
