A teacher's guide to formative assessment in the classroom

Assessment to support (rather than just measure) learning is now an integral part of government teaching strategies. But what does Assessment For Learning really mean and how can it be used in the classroom on a daily basis?

The DVD aims to guide you towards a better understanding of teaching, learning and assessment and to support your use of assessment for learning in the classroom.

Presented by Bill Boyle, Director of the Centre for Formative Assessment Studies at Manchester University, a leading advocate of Assessment For Learning.

Featuring Sue Bearsley, Deputy Headmistress of Barnston Primary School in the Wirral. Two of Sue's Year 2 lessons are analysed on video to create a series of training sessions to help Primary teachers implement best practice in the classroom.
