Doctorate in Counselling
The professional doctoral programme in Counselling was launched in September 2000. We have gathered together a growing group of people who are already qualified and experienced practitioners, and who are concerned to explore in depth the issues facing counselling in our era. This academic programme provides a unique opportunity both for professional development at a high level, and to pursue original lines of research in conjunction with others in the group.
The programme combines:
- taught elements in three specialist courses covering new and innovative developments in counselling
- training in contemporary approaches to applied research and evaluation
- regular professional seminars for in-depth exploration of current issues
- a substantial research project in an area of direct relevance to professional practice.
Duration:
5 - 6 years part-time
Entry Criteria:
Applicants should be qualified and experienced practitioners who have a masters degree in counselling, or an equivalent in a related discipline.
