Professional Studies
This programme provides a central spine to the PGCE primary programme. It deals with theme and professional issues including:
- assessment of pupils
- managing pupil behaviour
- how to deal with bullying
- making primary education inclusive for all
- planning lessons and programmes of lessons
- Personal, Social, Health and citizenship education
- applying for teaching posts
- first aid
Features of the Professional Studies programme include:
- regular high quality input from teachers and experts
- sessions based at the University and in Partnership schools
- regular group tutorials
- directed reading
- directed tasks carried out in classrooms
