Tuition fees, bursaries and financial support
Tuition fees for 2012/13 academic year will be £9,000 for Home/EU students and £12,300 for international students.
Financial support for PGCE students
PGCE students are able to qualify for the same statutory government support package as undergraduate students. This means that you can qualify for a loan to cover the full cost of tuition as well as maintenance support in the form of grants and loans. Full details of the statutory support package can be found here
Depending upon your household income and bursary, you can also get support through the Manchester Bursary.
What level of bursary can you expect?
Depending on your specialism and level of attainment in your undergraduate degree and postgraduate qualifications you may be eligible to receive a training bursary. Details can be found in the table below:

The Manchester Bursary for PGCE Students
PGCE students are considered for the University’s Manchester Bursary on a means-tested basis. We take into account the level of financial support available from government sources (including the TA bursary) as well as the assessed household income of the student.
Where the maximum level of financial support from government sources exceeds £8,500 (including the TA bursary), students are not considered for the Manchester Bursary. As a result, students eligible to receive a TDA training bursary should not expect to be considered for the Manchester Bursary.
Students not in receipt of a TA training bursary have less than £8,500 of government support available to them and can therefore be assessed for the Manchester Bursary. Details of the Manchester Bursary can be found here
